Below you will find a link to a beautiful article about not sinning just because we have grace. I would take it one step further and offer the definition of sin found in 1 john 3:4. Often referred to it as "The Old Testament Law, it is defined by God as holy, and everlasting.(just one example of many Leviticus 16:29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: ) (So then the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. Romans 7:12
American King James Version God's holy law(torah) is beautiful and life giving . Even Jesus said, not one jot or tittle would pass from God's law until heaven and earth pass away. (For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18)

That being said, I offer you the New testament definition of sin. Sin = breaking the law (torah). It is how we know we need Christ. It is how we know how to live after Christ comes into our hearts.
