Singing, Granny and Fire

This is my Brother dancing with my Granny........sweet times!
Good morning to all!

We had a productive week end. I went to hear my Daddy sing on Friday night with his community band. It had been awhile since we had the pleasure of attending his weekly singing. There is something so sweet about listening to the guitars, fiddles and mandolins play along with the sound of my sweet Daddys voice, along with the others as they belt out those old gospel and country songs.

My Grandmother is 86 years old. My Daddy's wife took Granny to the singing on Friday night. I walked over and asked her to dance. We did the two step as my Daddy sang an old Hank Williams tune "I can't help it if I'm still in love with you......... It was a wonderful time. Next my brother asked her to dance and she accepted. To know the joy of this, you would have to know first of all , how much she loves to dance and second of all , the challenges she faces with her health and her physical limitations. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Just last week she was looking at possible emergency surgery to try to keep her from being paralyzed and this week she is two stepping with her granchildren. We serve an awesome God who truly cares about every little detail.

Yesterday, Hubby and I got up early and went to the farm. We burned a very hot fire all day. Now first of all I should paint the weather picture for you. It was 107 degree heat index. So, we built a roaring fire in the field. We burned logs, old stuff taken out of the house during recent remodeling and cartons of stuff my daughter and I had gone through last week.We burned for 9 and 1/2 hours.
The fire was pretty close to the sorgham. I think we dried the sorgham still on the stalks! :)
Our "off" days are usually spent working. We work all week, he at an outside job and me in our homes and doing the business associated with our home and family. We work hard and we are thankful for that work.

It was a nice , normal week end with no drama!
Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Sorting Through Things At The Farm

This picture makes me feel cool just looking at it. It was taken in February at the Farm on one of our very rare snow days. In Alabama, we take pictures of the snow because it is quite a rarity! I am a tropical orchid and love the South so this works very well for me. It is pretty though!

Good Afternoon,

This week I have been busy at the farmhouse. We have been cleaning out the barn/shop and sorting through things....boxes and boxes of things.

I am tired. My sisters baby really keeps me on my toes these days. She is quite a handful.

I think I will go and do a few chores while she naps.

May the Lord bless you all!

Week-end.....They Seem To Go So Quickly

This photo was taken last month by my daughter on our family vacation. I hope to publish more photos for you soon.

Good evening everyone,
The surgeon told my Grandmother to just keep on as she is. Apparently her condition is a slow process so he does not recommend surgery. We are thankful and grateful to our marvelous God for His mercy. Thank you for all your prayers.

This has been a busy few days. My younger daughter and I spent close to 14 hours cleaning the house on Friday. The older daughter was in bed feeling pretty rough. Friday evening Hubby , me and my two daughters went out to eat Mexican food. We enjoyed it very much but sadly went to bed without doing Bible study. Everyone just crashed from overeating I think. :( It was good for the four of us to spend some quality time together.

Saturday, we rested around the homestead.

Last night we went out to dinner with our friends the G's. We had a great time of food and fellowship. We haven't done this nearly often enough and have missed them greatly.

Today, Hubby and I went into town and caroused around the antique store/flea market. We ate chinese and had a date together. I am grateful for my husband. God really blessed me.

I seem to be really stressed and harried lately. I would appreciate your prayers. Usually when a person is feeling that way, they are spending too much time thinking about themselves and all that they are doing. I need to repent and count my blessings. My God has tremendously blessed me and I have no right to feel this overwhelmed. I must trust the One who made and loves me. He is so wonderful and merciful! Bless His Holy Name!

My teenage nephew has been visiting and he will go home in the morning.

My house is clean. My laundry is caught up! I have two loaves of fresh ground, wholewheat bread baking in the oven for tomorrow. Life is good! I love to begin the week this way.

Tomorrow morning, my daughter and I plan to begin sorting through things in the barn and cleaning it out. This will be quite a job. I have enlisted the help of my friend J to watch the baby for a couple of hours so I can assess the situation and see what it is I am up against.

It has rained here for the last three days. Thank you Lord!

Praise the Lord all ye peoples!
Be blessed!

Please Pray for my Granny

Dear Friends and Family.
Please be in prayer for my Granny.(Louise Day) She is being told after
several tests that the arthritis she has suffered with for years, has
affected the nerves in her spinal cord. The Doctors are saying this will
paralize her. She is to see an orthopedic surgeon this morning at 8:00 for
evaluation for the possibility of emergency surgery.
As you can well imagine, we are all gravely concerned. She is 86 so I am
sure surgery would be very difficult to say the least.
We serve a miracle working God and this is not anything He can't handle.
My Granny and our whole family would appreciate your prayers very much.

King James Bible
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be
healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James
5:16

Thank you all and May The Lord Bless you and Keep you.

In His Love,

In The Wee Hours Of Morning

As I sit here this evening......or morning since it is 1:00 a.m., I am astounded at how quickly my state of mind can change.

I must keep myself immersed in prayer, Bible study and service to my God. It is too easy for anxiety to creep into my mind. I am worrying too much again. I am depending too much on myself and not enough on God. My Heavenly Father is so much more than deserving of my trust, praise and worship....of my adoration.

God is so good and merciful to me. For I am weak........but I am reminded that in my weakness He is strong.

Be blessed!

Farm Garden Photos

This is a tomato horned worm. He has eggs from a beneficial parasitic wasp laid on him. This will kill him. Then there will be many more beneficial wasps in the garden. I actually felt very sorry for him but they will eat down a whole tomato plant in one night. I am thankful for Gods delicate balance in nature.

It is much bigger than it looks! Especially when you are at the business end of the hoe!

You can see the squash are dying back. ....time to replant

Counting Blessings

As I sit here tonight, I am reminded of God's goodness and mercy. He is my rock and my salvation.

I love summer. I delight in the hot, humid nights watching the lightning bugs.. My daughter(22) and I walked out in the woods tonight to dump the litter box. Yes, the pleasure was all mine. :) When we came out of the woods she spotted a tiny frog in the beam of the flashlight. Such a precious little thing. We just went on and on about how cute it was. Then I showed her the huge frog that floats around in my miniature frog pond. This one much bigger. We enjoyed the night.....the air so thick you could almost cut it. She said Mama, we get excited over the smallest things....it doesn't take much to please us does it? I said "I am so glad". What a blessing! God is so good. This is one of things that you just could not put a price tag on.

How much is the loyalty of a friend worth? How about the adoration of your child or the joy of watching them grow into adults that still think you are the cats meow and enjoy your company....and you enjoy theirs! What price could you put on a faithful, wonderful, godly, hardworking husband who cherishes you?
How much would someone pay for parents who love you unconditionally and are worthy of your love and respect ...not to even mention Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins? And the family circle.....priceless isn't it?

The next time budget woes beset us , we need to count our blessings and be thankful for a benevolent, merciful, abundantly providing God. We should think upon these things.

Good evening and God bless you all.
